Bess and her descendants - The Cavendishes at Hardwick and Chatsworth Roger Mitchell Tuesday 13 February 2018

By a series of very well-made marriages, Bess of Hardwick (1527-1608) rose to the highest levels of English nobility and became, as Countess of Shrewsbury, enormously wealthy. Her descendants live at Chatsworth today.
